1689 LONDON BAPTIST CONFESSION
Our leaders all subscribe to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. This is a detailed historical Christian confession in the Reformed tradition. We do not require or expect members to subscribe to this document, but it gives the congregation clarity on how the pastors & teachers understand what the Bible teaches on key matters of faith and practice.
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
This doctrinal statement provides a summary of what we believe to be essential elements of the Chritian faith. All members are expected to hold to these doctrines as they are not specific to a denomination but are an evangelical statement of Christian belief and practice.
OUR LEADERSHIP
PASTORS/ELDERS
We believe in a plurality of elders who serve the congregation as pastors (shepherds). These leaders are responsible for leading the congregation through preaching, teaching, counseling, and most importantly by their example as they follow Christ in their families, jobs, and communities.
DEACONS
We believe the office of a deacon is designed by God to minister to the needs of the saints. This includes ensuring the proper use of funds in support of our ministries, missions, and the continued care for the congregation and our place of worship. Deacons also lead by their example as they follow Christ in their families, jobs, and communities.
WORSHIP TEAM
Those who lead in worship at Emmanuel are trusted members of our congregation who are committed to leading us in biblical worship. The songs they select, the emphasis on Scripture, the engagment of the congregation, and much more is all done intentionally and is designed to help you worship in spirit and in truth.
